Page 165 – correction
Answer 4.2
b) is the correct answer option. ‘Resolved’ and ‘Verification’ are alternative names for ‘Confirmation.’
a), c) and d) are not correct as they include one or both terms that are not alternatives to ‘Confirmation’.
Question 4.2 on page 165 is a consolidation question at K1 level, remember, recognize and recall. The ISTQB Test Manager Exam is specified as having K2 and K3 level questions which are likely to have more context. Having a good knowledge of terms is useful for addressing questions that may include use of terms.
Page 167 – correction
Question 4.5
Swap a) and c) in the question, so Answer 4.5 is correct as currently written, showing answer c) as the correct option.
The correct answer is, ‘Displays and reveals the top 20% of causes that result in 80% of the consequences.’

a) and d) are the least appropriate options.
a) Low-level test conditions are hard to determine when the requirements specification is not fully defined. d) Low-level test conditions provide more detail and so typically require more resources for the maintenance effort than high-level ones.
b) is not the best option. Low-level detailed test conditions support high-level detailed monitoring and control.
c) Low-level test conditions are beneficial in ensuring outsourced test case design and execution to a less experienced team are consistent with requirements.
e) is not the best option. Detailed test conditions are needed for test case automation.
Note: The question does not ask how they are to be specified. AI (Artificial Intelligence) can, in some situations, now be used with high-level test conditions or requirements specifications to achieve some automation. In these situations, AI initially produces detailed low-level test conditions.
